Home cleaning typically includes thorough cleaning of floors, dusty surfaces, the kitchen, and the bathroom. We always tailor the service contents to your needs, and everything is agreed upon precisely in advance. Professional cleaning is systematic work that frees up your time and simplifies your everyday life.
We are often asked what regular home cleaning covers in practice, and what it does not. The distinction is important, as different cleaning types are designed for different purposes. Let's review what you can expect when booking a professional cleaner for your home.
Maintenance cleaning or deep cleaning – what is the difference?
The terms are easily confused, but the difference is clear. Maintenance cleaning is performed regularly, for example weekly or every two weeks, with the goal of maintaining the overall cleanliness of the home. Deep cleaning, on the other hand, is a more thorough, less frequent procedure that cleans areas left untouched during routine maintenance cleaning.
- Maintenance cleaning: Focuses on visible surfaces and the removal of everyday dirt. It keeps your home continuously clean and comfortable.
- Deep cleaning (thorough cleaning): Typically carried out 1–2 times a year. It may include services such as window washing, thorough cleaning of the sauna, or wiping down the interiors of cabinets.
- Move-out cleaning: Is a specialized service of its own. It is an exceptionally thorough clean aimed at leaving the property in pristine condition for the next resident. This often also includes cleaning the interior of the oven, the range hood grease filter, and floor drains.
At Keradur, we provide all of these services and always tailor their contents to your requirements.
Home cleaning checklist: What do we clean room by room?
Professional home cleaning progresses in a logical order, typically from top to bottom and from cleaner to dirtier areas. This ensures that dirt does not spread to areas that have already been cleaned. Below is a general checklist, which we always customize together with the customer during a complimentary assessment.
All rooms
These tasks are generally performed in all rooms of the home, such as the living room, bedrooms, and hallways.
- Dusting: Wiping clear surfaces, such as shelves, tables, countertops, and windowsills, with a microfiber cloth (up to a height of approx. 1.8 meters).
- Vacuuming: Vacuuming floors and rugs.
- Mopping floors: Damp or wet mopping of floor surfaces according to the material.
- Stain removal: Removing visible stains from door frames, mirrors, and other surfaces (excluding walls and ceilings).
- Wiping door handles and light switches.
- Wiping mirrors.
- Emptying waste bins (as agreed).
Kitchen
The kitchen is often the most used space in the home, so we pay special attention to its hygiene.
- Cleaning countertops and backsplashes.
- Wiping the exterior surfaces of the stove.
- Washing the sink and tap.
- Cleaning the microwave inside and out.
- Wiping the exterior surfaces of home appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher).
- Spot cleaning cabinet doors and drawer fronts.
Bathroom, sauna, and toilet
Wet areas require dedicated products and methods to remove limescale and other buildup.
- Washing the toilet inside and out.
- Washing the washbasin and tap.
- Washing the shower area walls and floor.
- Wiping down the surface of the floor drain.
- Cleaning the mirrors and exterior surfaces of the medicine cabinet.
- Cleaning the sauna floor and wiping down the glass door.
What is NOT typically included in home cleaning?
The purpose of maintenance cleaning is to maintain the cleanliness of the home efficiently and regularly. For this reason, tasks that are time-consuming or require specialized skills are usually excluded. These are typically additional services that can be ordered separately as part of a deep clean or as a standalone service.
- Washing walls or ceilings
- Window washing
- Thorough cleaning of oven or refrigerator interiors
- Washing the range hood grease filter
- Moving heavy furniture
- Deep cleaning floor drains (opening them)
- Deep cleaning textiles or rugs (washing)
- Organizing items inside cabinets or on shelves
- Doing dishes
If you require any of these services, please let us know. We will gladly design a comprehensive cleaning solution with you.
Home cleaning pricing and household tax deduction
The price of home cleaning is based on the time spent on the work and is influenced by the size of the home, the frequency of cleaning, and the scope of agreed tasks. The best way to get an accurate price is to request a quote based on a free assessment visit. This allows us to ensure that the service fully meets your expectations.
Hiring a professional is, however, more affordable than many think, thanks to the household deduction. When you purchase services from a company registered in the prepayment register, such as ours, you can deduct part of the costs on your taxes.
How to take advantage of the household deduction in 2026
The household deduction makes professional cleaning significantly more affordable. In 2026, the deduction terms are as follows:
- Maximum amount: You can receive a maximum deduction of 2,100 euros per person per year.
- Deductible: The deductible is 150 euros per person per year.
- Deduction percentage: You can deduct 40% of the labor costs paid to the company (incl. VAT).
In practice, this means that if you purchase cleaning services from us for, say, 2,000 euros a year and the entire sum covers labor, the deduction is 40%, or 800 euros, from which the 150-euro deductible is subtracted. Thus, you can receive 650 euros in household deduction, provided the conditions are met and you have sufficient taxes. Spouses can utilize the deduction together, with a combined maximum amount of 4,200 euros, but both must pay their personal deductible in that case.
Claiming the deduction requires that the work is performed in your own home, leisure residence, or the home of your parents or grandparents. We handle all statutory obligations, so you only need to report the details to the Tax Administration.
How to choose the right cleaning service?
Choosing a reliable and professional cleaning partner is important. When requesting quotes, it pays to look at the overall package rather than just the hourly rate:
- What does the service include? Make sure the service description is clear and covers all your needs.
- Who does the cleaning? Is the cleaner professional and properly inducted? Does the company employ its own trained staff?
- Insurance and liability: Does the company hold liability insurance in case of potential damage?
- Quality control: How does the company ensure the quality of work and handle potential complaints?
At Keradur, we take pride in our more than 20 years of experience and over 250 cleaning professionals. Quality and trust are at the heart of our operations.
